qualifications

Kalmar Cooperative is a Federal non-profit housing complex. To qualify for housing in Kalmar you must be a Canadian citizen, or have permanent landed immigrant status in Canada. You must also have a responsible housing history record. You will be required to verify this information about all household members.

income

Your combined household income CANNOT exceed $58,000.00 upon the assignment of a housing unit within Kalmar Cooperative Inc.
Households with incomes over the income ceiling will not qualify. There is no income threshold, no low limit. But you must demonstrate an ability to pay housing charges (rent) in a timely manner.

A limited number of government housing subsidies are available for those on fixed incomes or social assistance. You have to apply for these subsidies separately. Government subsidies are based on your household income.

The Kalmar complex consists of one and two bedroom apartments only.

There is a minimum, and a maximum number, of individuals who are allowed to reside within an apartment unit.

For 1 bedroom units the minimum number is 1. The maximum number is 2.
For 2 bedroom units the minimum number is 2. The maximum number is 4.

Complete the Request for an Application Form fully, providing the necessary information about yourself and your household. Then mail it to the address located at the top right of the document. NOTE: All household members who are over the age of eighteen are required to complete their own Request for an Application and submit it to Kalmar Cooperative Inc. or its agents.

This REQUEST FOR AN APPLICATION will be used by Kalmar, or its agents, to verify the information that you have provided us. This verification will be done prior to a formal application being sent to you at the address that you have provided.
